Is someone telling you to pay with a bitcoin ATM?
Nobody legitimate asks you to pay them through a bitcoin ATM: not the IRS, police, a utility, or a grandchild in trouble.
If you're being pressured, stop and call someone you trust.

Know the cost before you go
Crypto ATMs charge a fee plus a markup on the price, often 10 to 20% in total. Bitcoin Scouts shows it as money.
Total fee
$100 in → about $85 of bitcoin
You get about $85About $15 goes to fees
Rates change. The machine's screen shows the final amount before you pay.
- The fee is in the price
Most machines don't add a separate line. They sell you bitcoin above the market price, so the difference is the fee.
- We say where the number came from
A live rate from the operator, a fee they reported, or one a visitor reported, with the time we got it.
- Check the screen before you pay
The machine shows the final amount of bitcoin before you insert cash. If it doesn't match, you can cancel.
Signs it's a scam
Someone stays on the phone
They rush you, or tell you what to press while you're at the machine. You were given a QR code
Someone else's wallet address means the money goes to them, and it can't be reversed. It's to “protect” your money
Or to pay a fine, a utility bill, or bail for family. Real agencies never take bitcoin.
What Bitcoin Scouts promises
We don't sell crypto. We tell you where the machines are, whether they work, and what they cost.
Ranked by distance, never by payment
Ads are labeled, take one slot above the results, and also appear at their real distance.
